Destin, Florida. Camping on the Gulf campground. 72 degrees F!

We travelled about 400 km today, and FINALLY got some warmer weather (we have shorts on, yippee!)

We tried to get a campsite at 2 different state parks, but both of them were fully booked.  So we ended up where we are now.  It is right on the ocean, and in fact some of the sites are right at the beach.  We're back a bit from the beach because we wanted a bit of shade (because of the cats) and those sites are slightly less expensive, though they are still very expensive.  We're not here for long though, and it is really special to be camped right at the ocean.  The view is nothing short of spectacular, especially at sunset.

This area is called the Emerald Coast.  We are at Destin between Pensacola and Panama City on the Florida Panhandle, on the Gulf of Mexico.

We only intend to stay the one night, then start to mosey on down towards Orlando.  We'll see what tomorrow brings!
