We started out at about 9:30 a.m. local time (10:30 a.m. Toronto time) and stopped at about 7:30 p.m. local time. But the day was not all driving.
We went to Camping World to shop, that's always fun, and to the RV dealer next door (BIG fun) and checked out a 24 ft. Winnebago with a slide out, it was very nice, but too big for our purposes.
Then we went to the Bass Pro Shop (MORE fun) near the Opryland Hotel, shopped there, then made lunch and ate in the RV (EVEN MORE fun).
We then decided to take a look at the Opryland Hotel. I was there about 15 years ago with Susan, and wanted to revisit it. It is a massive complex. There is no charge to go in and look around and shop, but they want you to pay $18 to park! Somehow we stumbled on a little free parking spot tucked away in a corner, so we went in and looked around for about an hour, it was great. Apart from actual hotel accommodations, there is shopping and restaurants and palm trees and a river with a boat ride, all under a dome, it is pretty spectacular!

After that, we intended to go to downtown Nashville to the Ryman Auditorium, Tootsies and the Wild Horse Saloon. We found however that the streets were extremely narrow and busy and crowded, and parking was not easy to come by. Ultimately we decided to move on and start driving towards Memphis. Paul took this opportunity to lay down in the back to try to get rid of a headache, and Bandit joined me up front in Paul's seat, complaining every time I hit a bump!
As much as we wanted to camp, it is still colder at night than we would like it to be unfortunately. Hopefully we'll be able to camp when we are in Florida!
Tomorrow we plan to continue to Memphis and Graceland!
